They walked through the congregation of dunes, each holding their sacred boards along side them. Once they were close enough for the ocean to wash their feet, they genuflected by placing one end of the board down in the sand, and humbly stood in reverence to the gods before them. They looked out over the sea in awe, piously giving a moment of respect before dashing off to join in the revelry. It was a celebration of being surrounded by it’s power, touched by it’s hand, and baptized by it’s waves.
